Up til now, I have not encountered a website I haven't sold on yet (and that is because of the push when I choose to dedicate myself to that site). I see so many negative comments about so many different websites. As I said, I have not yet had a sale on Bonanza, but I'm not against it either. Remember that success falls in the audience you target as well. One website may have worked well for ten people, but five more people had no luck what so ever. Everyone finds websites that work for them, eventually. I don't understand why people are getting uppity about different websites working or not working. Regardless, sales are for the majority, my responsibility as a seller. I haven't promoted my Bonanza account, and as a result (I'm sure), I have not had any sales. I have an etsy site, which I promote a little, and I recently started a Bonanza account (this month). Well, I've been reading these posts and I have to say I'm kind of shocked at the bickering. Amazon could disappear tomorrow, and most of what we buy there is not essential to our survival. And i think once we can't see them we won't be buying them as easily. Now it's more about finding products with better margins.Īll of this seems great for the customers, but ultimately there will be no brick and mortar stores left to actually see products. I"m a health professional, and my mission is to help people live pain free lives. I should just walk away from the whole thing. I was doing over 1.5 million dollars a year during the bubble. I also try to stick to products hatt have MAP, and help the vendor reign in anyone breaking those prices. On the other side, if I sell something that costs $200, even with a low margin i end up with $30 minimum. If i'm only making 10 bucks on a transaction, no matter the margins, it's not worth it to me. I'm amazed at what some people are willing to do to make a buck. And because anyone can come on and sell, my margins are gone. Now 35 to 50 per cent of my biz comes from Amazon, which means i'm losing 30% of my profit. I think the days of having a website that does well are over. My sales over the years have changed radically. Over time, i have watched them take over what ever areas they find that do really well. I was asked by Amazon to be a seller when they first opened things up for small businesses to participate.
